Today the all age groups have obesity problems, according to WHO, (World Health Organization), who said in the last years the obesity in Chile has increased from 12.9% to 32.7%. Factors like progressive industrialization and urbanization has occurred in Chile during the second half of the 20th century (Albala et al, 2006), that are associated with changes in lifestyle (effortless fat consumption to make it), or physical inactivity.
According to the Chilean Ministry of Health, the numbers indicate that a 17% of the children have obesity. A problem in which many solutions are sought, like the public solutions. But it is more than that: we have to take responsibility about our consumption habits, and in part depends on the equality access, opportunity, and financial coverage of health care.
